Putting Personality at the Heart of Myriad Playout 7

Liam Burke • August 28, 2026

Radio’s greatest strength has always been its people. Presenters give a station its personality, build familiarity and help listeners feel part of a shared community.

The new Presenter and Show Management features in Myriad Playout 7 are designed to strengthen that connection. They give stations a central place to manage the information behind their programmes and on-air talent, publish relevant content across listener-facing platforms and create more natural, consistent AI Voice Links.

Manage each show in one place

Show Management allows stations to create a detailed profile for every programme in their schedule.

This can include the show’s name, public description, images, social media links and target audience, as well as internal information used by Myriad when generating AI Voice Links.

Multiple presenters can be assigned to a show, with each person given a specific role. These might include:

  • Host
  • Co-host
  • News
  • Weather
  • Sport
  • Producer
  • Guest etc

These roles allow Myriad to understand not only who is involved in a programme, but also the part each presenter plays.

Public information about the show can be published automatically to connected Broadcast Radio Web Player and optional websites and mobile apps. This helps listeners discover what is on air, learn more about the programme and connect with its presenters through the platforms they already use.

Because this information is managed centrally, stations do not need to maintain separate versions of the same programme details across multiple services. Changes made within Myriad can be reflected automatically wherever the information is published.

Build richer presenter profiles

Presenter Management provides similar tools for managing the people behind the programmes.

Each presenter can have a short biography, extended biography, profile images and social media links. This information can be shared with the connected Broadcast Radio Web Player and optional websites and mobile apps, giving listeners a consistent and engaging introduction to the station’s on-air team.

Presenter profiles can also include information intended specifically for AI Voice Links, such as:

  • A description of the presenter’s personality
  • Instructions covering language, delivery and style
  • A selected or cloned AI voice

This allows Myriad to generate links that reflect the character of the presenter rather than relying on a generic station voice.

The presenter could be entirely artificial, with their personality and voice created specifically for the station. Alternatively, a real presenter could use a cloned version of their own voice to provide links when they are unavailable or to add content to parts of a programme they cannot voice personally. Because the personality and voice instructions belong to the presenter profile, they can be used consistently whenever that presenter is assigned to a show.

Turn multiple Clocks into one complete programme

A single radio programme will often use several different Clocks during its transmission.

For example, a Breakfast Show running from 7am until 10am might use a different Clock for each hour, with variations in features, music flow, news or commercial content. Although the individual Clocks are different, listeners experience them as one continuous three-hour show.

Myriad 7 allows each of those Clocks to be assigned to the same Show. Myriad can then treat them as a single programme when creating the Electronic Programme Guide, or EPG.

The resulting EPG can be published to the station’s Broadcast Radio Web Player and optional websites and mobile apps, showing listeners the complete programme rather than a series of disconnected hourly entries.

This helps audiences understand what is on air now and what is coming next, while providing useful programme descriptions, images and links to the presenters involved.

Crucially, the EPG is generated from the information the station is already using within Myriad. It can therefore remain accurate and up to date without creating an additional administrative task for the station team.

Create more natural AI conversations

Connecting presenters to shows also gives AI Voice Links a much better understanding of the people taking part in a programme.

Instead of treating each generated link as an isolated announcement, Myriad can use the assigned presenter roles to create a more natural sequence of interactions. For example, Brad might be assigned as the Host of a show. His AI Voice Link could talk about the songs coming up before introducing the presenter assigned to the Weather role. The following weather link would know that Brad is the Host and could refer back to him by name.

This creates the potential for AI-generated links that sound much more like a genuine programme, with presenters acknowledging one another and handing between different parts of the show.

It also makes the system easier to manage when the presenter line-up changes. If Brad is away for a week, the station can assign another presenter to the Host role. Myriad can then use the replacement presenter’s name, personality, instructions and voice when generating the relevant links.

There is no need to rewrite every instruction or manually update references throughout the programme. The relationship between the Show, its presenter roles and the Presenter profiles provides Myriad with the context it needs.

One source of information, used throughout the station

Presenter and Show Management brings together several areas that have traditionally been maintained separately.

The same information can help Myriad understand the structure and personality of a programme, generate a more useful EPG, populate listener-facing platforms and provide richer context for AI Voice Links.

For station teams, this means less duplication and fewer opportunities for programme information to become outdated. For listeners, it creates a clearer and more consistent experience across the Web Player, optional website & mobile apps as well as the live output itself.

Most importantly, it helps stations put their presenters and programmes at the centre of the listener experience. Combined with Myriad 7’s Listener Requests and Song Voting features, Presenter and Show Management forms another important part of its focus on audience engagement: helping listeners discover the people behind the station, understand what is on air and build a stronger connection with the shows they enjoy.
