AEQ Forum IP & Forum IP Split Digital Consoles

Fusion 24 Position Frame

The Forum IP and Forum IP Split is a fully modular, digital broadcast radio console solution that can have up to twenty channels in a wide range of different formats and with modular I/O options.

The modular design approach enables this console to adapt perfectly in different operating scenarios: self operated or  booth control radio studios, television production control, audio production, mixed configuration, easy integration in large systems.

An easy operating system combined with a high capacity allows the Forum IP console to execute any kind of task.

The FORUM IP SPLIT version comes with the core engine separated from the control surface, including the possibility to install the surface control modules separately in 3 RU´s. Up to 5 quadruples channel modules and one control and monitoring unit can be combined to create an elaborate split configuration console.

FORUM IP can be equipped with AoIP input/output cards of up to 64 input and output channels, compatible with the new AES 67 standard through Audinate’s DANTE technology. Using this optional connectivity, it can receive and provide signals from/to other consoles, routers and other input/output terminal equipment from more than 200 different manufacturers. Multi-channel connectivity can also be provided through the optional MADI interface.

Build Your AEQ Forum IP

The Forum IP is a fully modular digital mixing console designed to allow you to build your ideal solution by combining a range of different physical formats with multiple I/O module options. The following steps are intended as a guide only, we highly recommend you talk to one of our expert team to build a Forum IP that will meet your requirements.

Choose A Physical Format

You can select a Forum IP format and frame size to select the solution that will meet your studio needs and offer expansion opportunities in the future.
Standard Forum IP Frame - 12 Channel
  • Compact desktop console
  • Self contained design (No external mix engine)
  • Can accommodate up to 12 faders (in blocks of 4)
  • Built in Monitor control section
  • Built in Monitor module (inc 8 x GPIO's, 4 x Relays, 2 x Speaker Outputs, 2 x Headphone Outputs, Talkback Mic Input, 2 x Ethernet Ports, Cue Speaker & PSU
  • Capacity for up to 14 additional I/O modules
All audio and data inputs and outputs connect to the I/O modules located at the rear of the console.
Grand Forum IP Frame - 20 Channel

All audio and data inputs and outputs connect to the I/O modules located at the rear of the console.
Forum IP Split Frame - Up To 20 Channels
  • Flexible, split configuration console
  • Flush mount into desktops (up to 5 units)
  • Can accommodate up to 20 faders (in blocks of 4)
  • Separate 3u Mix Engine for DSP and audio & data I/O

  • Capacity for up to 14 additional I/O modules
Unlike the Forum IP and Grand Forum IP, the Forum IP Split combines individual fader modules with a separate Mix Engine that performs all the audio mixing and contained the selected audio and data I/O modules. The Forum IP Split can have up to five 'fader modules' with four faders per module.

Fill With Faders

Add In Fader Modules
Once you have decided on the format for your Forum, the next thing you need to add is some faders.

Each Forum IP Fader Module includes four faders along with the associated control buttons and assignment screen. So you just need to order enough modules to fill your Forum IP Frame.

So if you have a 12 Fader chassis then you would need 3 x Fader Modules (with 4 each) to fill it.

Of course, you don't have to fill your Forum IP with faders all at once, you might opt to only have 8 faders (2 modules) to start with and add additional faders later if you need them, just don't forget to by blank panels for any unused slots on your console!

Add In Your I/O Modules

Once you have selected the physical format and size of your Forum IP and filled the console with faders, all that remains is to select the audio and data input / output modules that you will need to connect up all the equipment in your studio and output signals to where they need to be. The Forum IP and Forum IP Split allows you to add up to 14 I/O modules in any combination you wish meaning you  can specify your Forum IP to have exactly the connectivity that you need. The options include:
  • Mic / Line Input Module - 2 x Mic + 2 x Line Inputs inc phantom power - electronically balanced
  • Analogue Input Module - 4 x Stereo Line Inputs (or 8 mono) - electronically balanced
  • Analogue Output Module - 4 x Stereo Line Outputs (or 8 mono) - electronically balanced
  • Digital Input / Output Module - 4 x Stereo AES/EBU or S-PDIF Inputs & Outputs
  • Digital Telephone Hybrid Module - PSTN Phone Line In (analogue phone) + Handset Output
  • USB Port Module - 4 x USB Audio / Data Ports
  • AoIP DANTE Module - 32 Channel Network Audio (Audinate DANTE protocol) - cannot be used with MADI module
  • MADI Module - 64 Channel Bi-directional Audio Channels (via 2 fibre ports) - cannot be used with AoIP module
  • Dual PSU Module - Adds Redundant Power Supply To Your Console
  • I/O Module Blank Panels - Fill Any Gaps With Blank Panels
