Smart Display Tile

The Smart Display Tiles are similar to Text Tiles but they can dynamically change their content based on external stimulus such as a physical hardware input, a virtual hardware input or when a user clicks on the Tile in SmartSign (for example using the 7" touchscreen model). These Tiles are most commonly used to indicate a changed state in key information. Applications might include:
  • Indicating when the microphones are live
  • Indicating when a phone is ringing
  • Indicating when a studio is 'on air'
  • Used as a trigger to operate a door lock
  • Used as a trigger to switch equipment on and off.
Because you can have multiple Smart Display Tiles on screen and have multiple states for each Tile, the applications are endless.

The main features include:
  • Set text, colours and font 'neutral' state
  • Add an image to the 'neutral' state
  • Set text, colours, fonts and alternate images for each 'active' state (up to 99 per tile)
  • Set Tiles to react to hardware inputs (from the Pi hardware interface) or virtual hardware events from a Broadcast Radio Hardware Service (which is free software for our customers)
  • Relay physical hardware to a virtual hardware to allow multiple SmartSigns to react to the same physical hardware input
  • Set hardware outputs (from the Pi) to control external equipment
  • Have as many on screen as you like
  • Add header and footer text
